June will be winter in the southern hemisphere.
Brazil is a big country in the sense that it crosses the Equator line and the Tropic of Capricorn, so weather varies as you move from the north to south.
So, depending where you are going. Most likely people go to the southeastern cone of Brazil i.e. the Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo states. Weather would be template during June in these places. If you go further south like Rio Grande do Sul,. Parana then it will be colder. Generally Sao Paulo is colder than Rio since SP is on a high plateau (2000 ft above sea level) and average temperature can range from 10C to 15C during the cold months. But you never get snow in Brazil, unless something weird happens, well you never know in this era of global warming. For someone from a cold country, Brazilian winter is very mild more like early spring in Finland or Canada. Rio is still warm in the noon time. Could be cooler in the morning during winter but it never dips any further than 10C. Only once when I was in Sao Paulo in winter it went down to almost 5C and it was brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr for most of us there then!!! |

This hotel is in Bahia State, several hundred miles north of Rio in the tropics. It rains most days in the tropics all year, but heavy and short around 1-3 PM for about a half hour to an hour. June is not one of the worts months, it is probably one of the best. Warm in the day, almost cool at night.
The worst months for rain are December and January. |

On the Bahian coast, you will enjoy sunshine eight days out of 10. It will be warm--about 80 during the day, above 70 at night--and usually humid. Romantic tropical rains, not the monsoon you now fear, will fall briefly on most days and cleanse you both of your sunscreen which you REMEMBERED TO PACK. The moon will be full on the 18th.
You will have such fond memories of the place that on Valentine's Day in 2033, your husband will put airline tickets to Salvador da Bahia within a bouquet of red roses for you. |

June's winter in the Brazil, then I advise to go for the Brazilian northeast. Fortaleza in Ceará is an excellent place. If you it 'll be for the Ceará, it does't leave to know Jericoacoara, the place prettiest of everybody, is not easy to arrive but it rewards.
Needing more information, it writes for my mail. I live in Brazil now. |

As for the weather, june/july are usualy dry, but not as hot as the summer (summer here is December trhu March)
In the Rio area expect temps of 20ºC or 70º F. |

For a country larger that the United States, Brazil has varied climatic characteristics that are separated into four distinct regions: the Amazon Basin, the Brazilian plateau, the coastlands within the Tropics and the southern states. So pretty much depends of where you are going.
In June is winter in my Homeland, so considering that, temperatures along the equator are high, averaging above 25°C, but not reaching the summer extremes of up to 40°C in the temperate zones. There is little seasonal variation near the equator, although at times it can get cool enough for wearing a jacket, especially in the rain. At the country's other extreme, there are frosts south of the Tropic of Capricorn, and in some years there is lil' snow in the mountainous areas, such as Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. Temperatures in the cities of São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, and BrasÃlia are moderate (usually between 12°C and 26°C), despite their relatively low latitude. Rio de Janeiro, Recife, and Salvador on the coast have warm climates, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 27°C, but enjoy constant trade winds, and the water in Rio is pretty much always cool. The southern cities of Porto Alegre and Curitiba have a subtropical climate similar to that in parts of the United States and Europe, and temperatures can fall below freezing in winter. |

As it's been said, June is the middle of Winter there. The temp will totally depend on where you are. Brazil is so big that the climate differs greatly from one part to the other. The farther north, the warmer it will be. If you're looking to go to beaches try some of the beaches on the northern part of the coast. Whatever you do...plan to have fun. Brazil is great. |

Yes Hi I travelled to Brazil for 3 months June July august and the weather is very nice in the north and cools as you head south yet it is still very nice a little cool outside Rio in the mountains. Fortaleza is nice, go to Olinda near Recife is a beautiful colonial town. Brazil is beautiful but can be dangerous I got rob but i was also out on a dark unlit street at 4 am. i strongly recommend Brazil i loved it and the people. you really feel alive there it's a nice change from North American life style. Have fun. |

I wouldn't’t worry too much. The region you are going to never gets cold. It could be raining, but that is unpredictable whenever time you go.
Foreigners use to love this time of year in the Coconut Coast (Costa dos Coqueiros) because it’s not too hot and the sea is still warm enough… |
