Daniel C

I want to live in Brazil for a year, I want to know some things...?

I want to live in a larger beach side city, what would you suggest. I have a thing for brazilian women, even though I have never met one, I have had my fill of blonde swedish girls, I need to go south to Brazil. I want to know how receptive Brazilian women are towards white american men. If I do decently well over here in the states, will I be all set in Brazil. I understand me not being able to speak Portugese might cause problems, though I will overcome, I need to get this Brazil thing out of my system while I am young (20) Where can I go to meet people my age in a crazy fun beach like living enviroment. How easy is it to get work? My basic question is, do Brazilian women like American men? and are the women easy to meet-(relate to)(have relations with) I am not some lame guy on this computer in his parents basement, I just dont want to sound like some douche. Thanks

If you plan to travel somewhere to get laid, you might very well manage to do it, but think of what you're asking for. Getting a Brazilian prostitute close to your hometown can be simpler.

If you want to relate to someone in Brazil, even if just for a temporary thing, it's a whole new business.

Good news are Brazilians are usually friendly with foreigners (I am not talking about sex, specifically).

There's a lot of myth and prejudice about the liberality of the Brazilian woman. Sexually, I found them more liberal than American chicks, yet European, Swedish specifically, are usually more open-minded about sex. A one night stand isn't rare at all, but it isn't also in the US or in Europe.

Now the bad news: yours is the perfect profile of a prey for whores. As soon as they recognize you, wrongly or not, as an American looking for some booty, they'll enthrall you into a downward spiral of sex for money and presents.

Eventually, you'd get so used to it wouldn't get to know a single Brazilian interested in you, not in your money. So be careful of what you're asking for, you could get just that.

I advise you to move to a good seaside city with a "crazy fun" environment like Rio, Pernambuco, Salvador or Florianopolis (not this one if you've had enough of blondes). They're all very different from each other, like Texas differs from California and California from New Hampshire, so do some research. Mingle with the locals, go out at night, try to learn some Portuguese, study something, (sigh...) get a job (visa needed). Making acquaintances will enable you to actually know Brazilian women. Maybe some of them will like you, or will just like to take you for a ride. And be open to things you didn't ask for. I have a friend who was transfered to Brazil by his company, married a Brazilian woman and lives there now with her and their kids.

hey,
brasilian money is worth about half of the dollar. so, if you take about 10,000 dollars, itll be worth about 20,000 reais (brazilian currency). if you want to live by the beach you should probably look into moving towards the northeastern part of the country, where it's not so crowded with "bad people", and it's as beautiful as it's gonna get. salvador, for example is a big city, on the beach and its gorgeous. brasilian women dont mind american men unless you're fat and snobby. thats the perception of americans that every brasilian has, but as long as you come clean and open yourself you should meet many beautiful and fun people. it shouldnt be too hard to find a job, but you will need to learn at least some portuguese. if you know some spanish it will def. help you out.
good luck! i hope you end up going because you will have the time of your life.
