I really doubt that you will feel any kind of discrimination towards you, because of your African descent, especially since, the majority of people in the northern part of Brazil are also, from African descent....not only there, anywhere you go in Brazil, you will find that people are very mixed, unlike the United States, discrimination exists but doesn't overpower their souls....they are great, friendly and very happy people....so if I were you, I wouldn't worry at all about that.....just watch out for the little pick pockets, now that is big there...variety to the Brazilians is the spice of life, I am Brazilian, and that has always been the way I have seen Brazil. Have a wonderful trip. |

LOL, the population of Salvador is almost 80% black. As far as racism, if you come from the US, you do not have to care, cause racism in Brazil is much lower than in the US. |
