The reason you aren't getting any definite answers is because Brazil has tons of coastline and thousands of different beaches. Assigning them a number is impossible because there is no set standard of identifying what exactly constitutes a beach's boundaries. Some people go by ownership, others use geographical boundaries like rivers/streams to decide where one stops and another begins, some people just use names, etc.
You might have more luck asking: “How many professionally maintained beaches are there near *(insert tourist city in brazil’s name here)*.

Hundreds, thousands, dude. I backpacked up to the northern coast, called Bahia. The best electronic music scene. Beautiful beaches and the hottest women in the world. Definitely go. |

:) yeah Vinasy.. it is a huge country with a long shore line..:) No.. if you want to know which are the best..thenortheast of Brazil has amazing beaches.. Fortaleza, Natal.. etc.. but it does require more time in Brazil because they are far and normally not very inexpensive..:) Now.. for a short stay.. in Rio.. aside of the close and famous beaches such as Copacabana and Ipanema..:) you cn travel 2 more hours and get to places sich as Buzios, Arraial, Angra..:) all sure to fall in love..:) |
