In general Americans think civilization ends at the Rio Grande ....

The only image an American has of Brasil is the soccer players, the naked Indians in the Amazon, and that picture of the brown skin girl on the beach (you probably think she is "The girl from Ipanema" but she isn't. The girl from Ipanema is actually a fair skinned blonde!! Does that surprise you!)

Your stunted point of view would be like saying that the US is the NBA, Indians running around on horseback and living in Tee Pees, and Paris Hilton.

Brasil is so much like the United States in that it is FULL OF IMMIGRANTS! Italians, Germans, Armenians, Japanese, Portuguese, former slaves from Africa.

Brasilians are also fiercely patriotic!!!!!!! You don't see Brasilians storming the US border.

Southern Brasil looks, works, and feels like Northern Italy / Southern Germany. right down to the small towns that speak Italian or German.

The second largest Japanese city in the world is Sao Paulo ... with over 2 million Japanese. That's more than Osaka or Kyoto or any city in Japan except Tokyo.

Go north to Salvador and its almost 100% African.

Go even farther to Recife and its old Portuguese and Portuguese mixed race with a little African and Native Indian in the mix.

Ignorance such as yours makes me almost feel ashamed to be an American.

And for pete's sake: The language of Brasil is PORTUGUESE! which actually has more grammar in common with French than Spanish.

A Brazilian can be German, African, Mixed etc there is no one look to a Brazilian. And where did you get your 100% Spanish for both countries??? Please stop confusing Mexico with Brazil. In Mex they speak Spanish we speak Portuguese, most Brazilians are descended of Africans, there is no black in Mex, the food is different, the music different, everything is different.

Sorry to tell you but there is nothing similar between Mexicans and Brazilians and as far as not racially diverse, you are very confused, we speak Portuguese,they speak Spanish we come from Europe and Africa and believe it or not there is a large population of Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, you name it, we have it....don't just generalize like most Americans tend to do,thinking anyone that speaks Spanish is Puerto Rican. By the way, the only thing we have in common with Mexicans is Soccer.

Why are Americans so ignorant? They see someone speak Spanish and they immediately think that person is Mexican. Brazilians and Mexican look nothing alike. Most Mexicans are Aztec Indians. Most Brazilians are of European or of mixed African descent.

Really check them out--Brazilians have their own look--not Mexican and not Puerto Rican. Brazilians fall somewhere between a Cuban and African American mix--beautiful and bronze!
