Yes! He's a communist sympathizer, but to be sympathizer is not to be a Communist.
Actually, his history seems to be of a communist person. Everyone thought he would be a "people president". But everyone was wrong.
He is a president like the others. I'm not speaking about corruption, but I'm speaking about presidencialism or democracy.
In Brazil there are many communist parties (PCB, PC do B etc...), but I believe if one of them arrived in the Brazil Republic Presidency it would be like any party. Because when a person arrive in the "power", it's forgotten of all its past.
Lula's from the PT (in English it would be WP - Workers Party). I won't deny he did many things for Brazil, but I believe he could do more.
The relation with Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro is just a friendship. I think it doesn't pass of this. In fact, Chavez would like Lula has done of Brazil a communist country or a superficial communist country, but Lula would never do this. Because if he has done it, every his govern programs would fall down.
