Maceio is poor as hell. If you like extreme poverty than you will love Maceio.

There aren't handsome guys there, but the people is very friendly and the beaches are very nice.
If you want beautiful people go to South of Brazil.
If you want a fun place (and never get bored) go to Porto Seguro (Bahia)
