It is awesome for tourism. If you have lots of money it's a great place to live (like anywhere). If you need to get a job you should know that the economy over there is based on tourism and fishing, nothing else.

Porto Seguro is a tourist destination. It's the first place that Pedro Alvares Cabral, the man who "discovered" Brazil, set foot on Brazilian land.
If you work with tourism, it is probably a good place to live.

Porto Seguro is a touristic beach place in the state of Bahia, not a big city. I guess work there is basically connected with tourism. It's a casual small village with very beautiful beaches and all sorts of accommodations; from very plain to very sophisticated. In summer time it gets hundreds of tourist, but now we are heading into winter. There's another village near by called Trancoso, also very nice.
