Best way I always travel in Brazil is with busses, these are very comfortable especially when you take the most expensive ones.

I am from Sao Paulo, so honestly I don`t know if there is a train from Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires, but I would suggest you to go by plane... it is faster and safer.
