Looking for a hostel close to Rio's airport?
Looking for a hostel close to Rio's airport? Preferred if its listed on the Hostelworld.com website. Will be departing from the Galeao Airport (GIG) appox 15kim North of city center. Additional Details Can also be a cheap hotel. Not looking at spending more than $40USD or $60AUD for the night.

I live in São Paulo, but... This is a bad idea. The road Between Galeao and the city center pass throughout the very violent area in Rio. Tourist normally have wrong first impression about Rio because this.
When a go to Rio I prefer Santos Dumont (domestic Airport), that is in the center, only to not pass in the Galeao region

How to arrive of the Airport
Any Bus that goes downtown and let off in an of the Stations of the Subway of Rio de Janeiro and to catch the same towards Tijuca, let off in the Station S. Francisco Xavier to proceed until the Largo da Segunda-feira and turn right on 2º street.
OBS. We suggested that in any point of the City tries to drive the closer station of Subway and to catch the same towards Tijuca, let off in the Station São Francisco Xavier to proceed until the Largo da Segunda Feira and turn right on 2º street.
