There are some good options either in Buzios or in Angra dos Reis. My favorite place in Rio de Janeiro is Ilha Grande, which once was used as a prison and now is available to visit since 1994. There are many good pousadas there and very cozy.
But if you intend to have something more fancy, try Rio das Pedras Club Med or Novo Frade Hotel and Golf Resort. They are both in Angra dos Reis and they both have "private" beaches and mountains and jungle surrounding the area. Check the weather forecast up because sometimes it rains o lot there. The best time to go to these places is in early April, right after high season. Should you need further information on this, let me know by mail!
Peace,
Luiz |

If you would like to stay somewhere essentially in the city where you can easy access to all the tourist spots I would suggest the Sheraton in Rio de Janeiro. I have stay there a few times and I love it! There is a private beach that is accessible only to guests and the staff is very helpful also many speak english.
If you would like to stay farther away from the city I would suggest one of three locations all of which are beautiful and good for tourists:
Cabo Frio
Buzios
Angra do Reis (my personal favorite)
For the perfect vacation I would recommend a fews days at the Sheraton and a few days at Angra do Reis.
Enjoy!!! |
