My friend and I are moving to Rio De Janeiro with 5000USD a piece. We want to stay close to Copacabana? |
We want to stay near Copacabana and Ipanema so we can get loaded and have an easy time getting home. We both have 5grand a piece. How long will be able to stay? Could we find a decent apartment for 600-1000USD a month? Or even less? I don't want some shack that I am ashamed to bring my Brazilian queen home to :). Can any of you guys offer any suggestions? I want to be close to this area but just don't want to spend tons and tons of money to do it. Help! Thanks guys |

Believe me with the money both of you have, you will be able to rent a very decent place to crash and could really enjoy yourself in the process....Have a great trip and enjoy yourself, there was a Playboy something that lives in Rio and was willing to rent rooms, in his 4 bedroom, home or apt. for 250.00 a month, should he answer your questions, contact him, he seems like a nice guy....He answers alot of questions regarding Brazil....

There are agencies that arrange apartments for foreigners in Rio. I have never had any dealings with them. Do your own due diligence.
If you ever decide to make a longer-term investment, there's a trustworthy firm that sells condos in Rio to foreigners called Luxo Rio.
You may also want to post an inquiry on forums specifically about Rio de Janeiro. |

What I would do would find a place about 3 blocks or so from the beach. The prices drop when you get that far from the beach and its still very close.
