Need some information on Corumba Brazil. Can you help?

If anybody has information about Corumba Brazil I would like to hear from you. I am particularly interested in the crime rate (and types of crimes) in the area. What city does Corumba compare to as far as living...housing etc. Would this city and the area be safe for an American family to move to? How about the schools? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Corumbá is a small city, the population is of 95 thousand people, you can see in Google Earth that it is a city that is being built, you can see the new neighborhoods being built. It is a city without luxury, however it has comfort, the luxury is found only at the hotels for tourists, they come for the city to visit the Swampland of Mato Grosso.
I sought in the Newspapers of the area the statistics on crime in the city, and I found in the Newspaper Pantanal News ,of the year of 2008, statistical that demonstrates a decrease in the violence with application of social programs, the criminality is not high and I didn't find any violence report against foreigners.
Corumbá conquered two medals of gold in the School Brazilian Championship of Chess..
The municipal district still obtained room and sixth places in the tournament. The competition was disputed by students of the pré-school; fundamental and medium teachings, in the masculine and feminine categories.

Corumba, Brazil is a small town on the south west side of Brazil which is close to the Bolivian border. The center of town is about 5 miles from the Bolivian border. The center of town is also about 90 miles from the border to Paraguay. This specific town was the center setting of a novel by John Grisham called The Testament.

Corumbá consists of two areas. The lower area is where the old village of notable architecture lies, close to the port. The upper area, newer and much bigger, is chessboard-shaped. Its architecture is not like other old Brazilian cities, where the predominant architectural style is the colonial romantic Portuguese. Its architecture is Italian neoclassical, the same as central Asunción, the old suburbs of Buenos Aires, the towns of the countryside of the Uruguay, and the majority of the southwestern Rio Grande do Sul. Its urbanization rate is very high, reaching around 90%. In recent years, due to a better quality of life, the population is aging and the fertility rate is decreasing
I don't think it has much violence, at least nothing major since i couldn't find anything on it...
It's at Pantanal though, and that's awesome if you like animals..
Enjoy!
