Pantanal trek/tour - Brazil? |
Is 2 days enough to visit the pantanal? I know it isn't a lot, but would it still be worth it, or would it make a big difference to extend it to 3 days?
Can anyone recommend a budget tour company? Can it be booked in advance or is it better to book in Brazil? Would it be possible to start the trip in Bonito and then finish in Campo Grande? |

Every year, the flood cycle repeats itself. Normally, the rains start in November, becoming more intense from December to February. The waters reach their highest level between May and July, turning the large Pantanal plain into a sea of fresh water. The time and size of floods vary from one year to the other. The dry season is from August to November.

To know all exuberance of Bonito, you need 4 days.
Places you have to go in Bonito:
- Gruta da Lagoa Azul - wonderful cave with calcareous formations and a beautiful pond at the bottom of the cave.
- Fluctuation in River Sucuri: float with snorkel, mask and clothing of neoprene, in crystal clear waters full of fish and aquatic plants. Lunch included.
- Fluctuation in the River Plate: float with snorkel, mask and clothing of neoprene, in crystalline waters with fish of various sizes and colors. Lunch included.
- Fazenda Rio do Peixe: The most magnificent waterfalls in Bonito. Monkeys, macaws and toucans to amuse the tourists. Lunch included.
In Campo Grande, visit the Museum of the Indian.
