Rio weather in October? |
I have 2 choices:
either to go to RIO for 10 days in October or go for 5 days in February? tell my when should I go and why? how is the weather in October? |

Rio has a tropical climate with hot, humid summers (December to March) and temperate, pleasant winters (June to September). Rain tends to be short intense showers in the summer and long drizzly showers in the winter |

FEbruary is too hot, really, 100F +.
October should be warm, but not excessive.
Also, its not the high season, so it wont be so crowded.
And, 5 days is not enough for Rio in my opinion.
10 days is good.
Go for a few days to Buzios (www.buziosonline.com)
its 2 hours north of Rio and worth it.

very nice inns to stay...
they can provide transportation as well, dont rent a car, avoid driving in Brazil.
In Rio, choose a hotel in either Leblon or Ipanema... avoid Copacabana, tourist trap.
In Leblon, I recomend the Marina Palace, nice and not too $$$.
If you are a millionaire there´s the new FASANO hotel in Ipanema.
In Leblon, there are also good apart-hotel options, like Rio Flat Service, great location, very good price...

In Octuber, our weather station is SPRING !
About 29ºC, many Sun ! A great Period.
But in February, the products ant hotels are many expensives, because the Summer Vacations and the Carnival Festival.
Then, after Feb 10th, the things are more cheap (end Carnival Festival). |

Februry is better. Because is summer, have parties, the places is opened and have other turists
In february Rio de Janeiro have the most beautfull sky of the world (Newsweek).
In octuber not have many people, for a side is good.
The rio is more calm. And you can see the financerius and historical Rio de Janeiro.
In octuber have some sunny days, but some rain days.
Depend of your sort.
I prefer Febreary.
But every year Rio is the great city. |

October- Low=20C. High=28C.
February- Low=23C. High=33C.
I would go on October...you can stay for twice longer and it´s less crowded than February. |
