Should I go and tour with a Brazilian Band?

I am 23 years old and a singer in the US. A band from Curitiba, Brazil found my YouTube videos and have asked me to tour with them as their guest American singer. I have checked them out and they seem very legitimate. He has given me all kinds of information about his band and what would be expected. He would pay my expenses plus pay me for my performances. He told me that I could bring a guest too. They are based in Curitiba and the performances would be Curitiba, Rio De Janerio, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. The only other country I have been to is Canada, so I'm not sure what to think here or even expect. My family is very nervous about me going to Brazil. Can anyone give me input on what they think about this?
Additional Details
First, thanks for the responses, second, maybe this does sound questionable, considering I did not give many details, but I'm not stupid. The reason I'm here asking all of the world is because I am doing my research. I have researched this band and have talked to others and they seem very legitimate. They have been very professional too. The band is Soulution Orchestra. My biggest concern is being "showcased" as an American Singer. I just don't know the country at all, and it wouldn't be like just going over to Brazil as a tourist, I would be performing and in front of many people, so I hope you can all see my concern. Thanks for any additional input!

I think it would be a great experience if they are going to sponsor your work Visa.

Just make sure that you have money to live in case the situation doesn't work out.

You're young, so take risks and enjoy life. And congratulations on being offered a singing position.

Sao Paulo was named by ONU the most violence city of world.

i hate people that hate my country and say things they DON'T know, and people that have never been to brazil or haven't been there in 20 years.

ok i am sorry about that.
first you should do your research on the band, their members, everything. Brazil's crime rate has dropped a lot in the past years, trust me its not that dangerous anymore, but you should still be careful like any other country, and you should go with your gut, if you feel these people can be trusted you are probably right, and the minute you feel something is wrong it probably is. This could be a really god opportunity for you and this why i think you should go for it,

well if you do go, good luck, and if you decide not to, good for following your gut hehe.. buy the way whats the band?

hope i helped =]

What Type of band is it. What's the name of the band. drugs, violence, etc. always go's on in these cities, as favelas exist all over brasil and even Rio, is more dangerous than war zones in iraq. lol, youtube videos....that must meen theyre pretty desperate and not really known.....tell us the name of the band and what type of music they make !! it really makes a difference to what you will expect in shows like Brasil / Argentina, as you may know, the crowd, the stuff that gos down there is nothing like you have seen. You will be surprised by what you see but thats your choice

Oh, God! She ask for help and then the people say the worst things the Brazil has, where all countries of the world have...

But following with you question: I really don't know! Because if I were you or your parents I would be nervous too.

I'm Brazilian and I know that there are many serious band here. If you could put the name of the band, it would stay easily to say something.

Ok? Good luck! And XOXO!

why should you know?
No. It sounds like a trap.
