Studying in Brazil...?

Hi, I'm not sure why my question was removed earlier but I wrote that I am a student who is considering a study abroad program based in Brazil and my interest is really high. I got some good responses before this question was deleted and I'm still interested in hearing what people have to say. Where are the best places to visit and is the whether there really hotter than the summer in the US?

Brasil is a very big country, with different people from different regions. Yes, there is Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, the cities that I think it's violent. But there is South region, states of Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná. These states are very calm, very good to live, with beautiful beaches, mountains, places to go, very good food, including the best barbecue of Brasil. I hate when the media just show the "dark side" of this country, like "favelas", drugs, violent people. This things exists everywhere. Brazil is not only carnaval, Amazonia and women. There is so much to see. If you have interesting in photos of some good places, e-mail me.

The best way to go if you can afford it is via one of the programs organized by US universities. You can learn more on the website of the Brazilian Studies Association: http://www.brasa.org/

The best schools in the country is located in Sao Paulo the city that I am from, is a very cosmopolitan city, but if you are looking for the beach you have to travel a few hours to go to some good ones or one hour to ok beaches.
The summer is the same or even colder in Sao Paulo. Is not like here in co that everyday we get 100 degrees.

My cousin went to Australia for that program and she had the time of her life. It was so awesome. She learned so much, education, meeting new people, culture, besides that she even learned to surf. I suggest going to Australia
