Hello!
I live in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul's capital. Well, u shouldn't miss to visit the south of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná. They're places with strong German/Italian/Polish influence and with beautiful sights. It's not as violent as another states...
The nature is a show! There are several options for tourism, cities well structured and high quality.
Any questions, please contact me via e-mail. And don't forget to visit me... ahahha
Good bye!

Yes the Amazon is dangerious of course. There are more species there than any other place. I recommend you to go with a tour so he can tell where to go to and what to wear since there are some dangerious spiders, snakes, etc...
In Brazil you can do anything you want and there are tons of things to do. The country is almost as large as the USA is, therefore you need to decide where to go since takes long time to go from one state to the other.
My favorite places:
- Rio de Janeiro city
- Paraty
- City of Salvador
- Lencois Maranhenses (Maranhenses Sheets). The most beautiful place on earth
- Porto das Galinhas
- Morro de Sao Paulo
- Fernando de Noronha
- City of Bonito (in Mato Grosso)
- Fortaleza
- Canoa Quebrada Beach on the north
- Night life in Sao Paulo city |

Well, the big cities can be dangerous, in the small ones criminality is much lower.
I don't know a lot about the north region(the amazon), if you're going there, the main attraction is the nature I suppose... which is all around.. =] |

theres much things to know in Brazil. If u like forest, animal and natives u shoud know amazon. if u like beaches, the northeast (Bahia, ceará, Pernambuco and other States) is the best. if u like europpean influences the south(Rio grande do sul, santa catarina, paraná) is the best. if u like the samba and soccer Rio de Janeiro is the best. |

There are a lot more to see in Brazil besides the Rain Forest!! Off course it would depend on your interests and preferences.
If you enjoy beaches and a lot of sun, you should go to the Northeast for sure!
If you are more like a big city fan, São Paulo would be a good bet. There are many museums, malls, and galleries that you shouldn't miss. However it can be dangerous at night.
The south of Brazil is also amazing, and safer. Not very famous for foreign tourist though. Santa Catarina has many small towns where you can enjoy nice farm hotels, with beautiful landscapes. In Rio Grande do Sul state, you can visit the cities of Gramado and Canela, and many parks that are there. And in Paraná, there is always the famous "Iguaçu falls" an unforgettable nature splendor! Curitiba (the capital of Parana) has also many beautiful places, and it's known for the good quality of life. However at this time of the year the temperatures in the south are not as warm as in the north!
I hope this is helpfull! Enjoy your trip!

Big cities are dangerous, well, do not go out on the streets with electronics, such as ipods, cameras, cell phones and stuff, have everything on a backpack and stay tuned because people can come and get it and you wont even have time to do anything and do not try to go and get it back, it can be VERY DANGEROUS (but only if ur in big cities) but be very careful in small cities too but if ur in a large group of people its safer I guess. Actually there are so many things to do in Brazil, the Amazon is localized on a state called AMAZONIA and I never went there but some say its a really beautiful place but i like beaches better, a good place with the prettiest beaches are PORTO DE GALINHAS (in PERNAMBUCO, its a beautiful place), ILHEUS (BAHIA, its not a big city but its a good place to chill), FORTALEZA (CEARA, FORTALEZA is a big city and can be dangerous but is a great place to visit), NATAL (RIO GRANDE DO NORTE, I guess Natal is the best city i've ever met, I love it but its a big city too)
Hope u have fun over there. Good luck! |

You say that it comes for Amazon, butt doesn't say that State you will come, we have a State of name is Amazonas, But the Amazonian Forests is very big and it includes several States, of the North area of the Country. I am putting information on two states Amazonas and Pará that are two larger States of the North Area.
