Travel within Brazil - Sao Paulo to Praia Grande?

I'm looking for a relatively fast and cheap way to get from Cumbica (Guarulhos) airport to Praia Grande (south of Sao Vicente/Santos). I can't drive there on my own, unfortunately. I know there is a bus, but it takes awhile. Can anyone recommend a better way, or does anyone know how much money it would take to hire a car & driver? There would be 2 passengers total. Thank you!

Never drive in São Paulo! It´s a very big city and you will be lost. And the trafic is very fast, dangerous and chaotic!! I think the fast way to go to Praia Grande is using metro crossing São Paulo and bus. To cross São Paulo by car you will take a lot of time. Hours!!! To go to Praia Grande in Cumbica airport you take a bus named "Airport Service" to a metro station called "Tietê Terminal". It´s easy, ask there how cold you go to "Terminal Tietê". Don´t take a Taxi or you cold be in trouble. This terminal is a very very big bus and metro station. Take a metro and go to "Jabaquara Station" on blue line. You will be on metro blue line in "Tietê Station" ,so, that is easy, stay on that same line. Jabaquara is the last point on blue line. The first is " Tucurivi station" . Go on "Tucuruvi ----> Jabaquara" way ! Metro map :

In Jabaquara station you will find a bus station and them get a bus (a Big, confortable and security bus !!! Don´t take the litle vans or you cold be in trouble too!) to Praia Grande. The bus name is "Viação Intercapital" . The bus have this painting :

This bus get out at one by one hour starting 6:15 AM and finishing 11:00 PM and costs R$ 17,00 to R$ 19,00 (+- US$ 12,00).

That is easy to do but If that is too confused for you I could try to find a phone of good and honest taxi driver for the travel if you prefer.
