What part(s) will you be traveling to? I wanted to go to Rio and spend more time in Sao Paulo but did not have time. I was there for one week for a mission trip and the other for pleasure. If you have never been make sure you take warm clothes, if you are going to be anywhere near Sao Paulo or below, it was freezing cold and most homes/hotels don't have heat!

You can contact me re: your inquiry. But, I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to Brazil next summer (their winter) or not. I'd be interested in knowing what type of charity work you're doing if nothing else. I'm considering attending PUC-RIO's pre-term intensive Portuguese course (July 2007). My biggest desire is to mix with the locals as much as possible. If I didn't see another American while I was in Brazil that'd be fine. Even so, I'm curious as to what you'll be up to.
