Sorry for my insistence, but even "there's not a lot of girls with this name but some (few?!)" , my intention was to show that the name Veronica is not that rare.
People are used to this name (from TV shows, Music, computer names, etc), but It's uncommon its use to the beautiful brazilians.
If you allow me, I'd like to prove my point:
- A "exact match" search at Google.com.br using the tag "Veronica" will return around 1,040,000 results
- A "exact mathc" search at Google.com.br using the tag "Maria" (one of the most popular names in Brazil - according to online reseaches available at the url's below) brings back around 2,730,000 results
Big difference but it doesn't mean it's rare! Let's see it:
1.04 out of 10 to Veronica
and
2.7 out of 10 to the most poupular name in Brazil - Maria.
But once you research just the proper names for human beings (third link below, please use Campinas as model), the relationship drops:
45 registers to Veronica
X
1544 registers to Maria's
Relationship 0,00175%, basically NONE.
My point is:
Veronica is not rare because by definition rare is something that doesn't exist in abundance
but
Yes uncommon, because is not largely used as a girl's name.
