the best place to live at in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro.
Why???
Because the beachs, the people, the places, the history, job, technologic, the modern houses and best companies:
Bank of Brazil, Embratel, Telemar, Globo Television, Petrobras and many companies.
But have Brasilia, Curitiba and Florianopolis too, it's new cities, with good weather and security. |

It depends on what you want.
If you want to work and make money the best place is Sao Paulo. Nothing to see there, no nature - concrete jungle only, but best services in the whole country.
If you want relaxation and contact to nature, the best place is probably somewhere in the northeastern coast. Some suggestions: Prado, south of Bahia State; Pipa, Rio Grande do Norte State.
If you are not sure about what you want, so Rio de Janeiro is the best. In Rio you can enjoy the big metropolitan center with all facilities from modern life, and also forest, beaches, countryside - You can find it all in Rio.
Because I love History, Arts and Architecture I can also recommend Paraty (beach and islands - wonderful location!) and Ouro Preto (mountain ) - two colonial towns preserved from 18th center. |

I lived in six different cities in the Bahia over the course of two years and of course Salvador would be the best place in the Bahia to live in. If you want to get away from the large city, Ilheus would be a great second option. They have beautiful beaches and it is very close to Itabuna which is a large city in the interior of Bahia. |

It depends on what you want. If you would like to live in a tropical paradise, everywhere is recommended, specially the northeast. If you want to study , work, the best place is São Paulo. And if you are looking for crazy fun, the place is Rio (but the risk of living there is also "crazy"). |

I think I'd live in Campos do Jordao - a small town in the mountains, close enough to Sao Paulo to go do things, but small and quiet enough to enjoy life. |
