Thanks to God only 10% of the Brazilian population have a consumption level same to the of the Americans, that it is completely insane. 45% have a consumption level as an European. 35% of the population are low middle class, (They doesn't have own house, They doesn't have own saving, and when they retire receive the Social welfare officials pension).
10% are miserable. |

I spent 2 months in Brazil in 2000 and i would say that i am not too sure why Brazil is still considered a third world country i found the family unit much better in tact and i found that charity is better between the people in Brazil than in the United States. I saw bigger areas of poor people than what they have here in the U.S
but i would classify the poor as 15-20% of the people of Brazil. |

Who cares about foreigner standards? If we have car, LCD TV, computer, all electronic gadgets & utilities, we expend money in shopping centers, we have more than 120 miilion of cell phones, etc. we are middle class, and no matter what people can say in other parts of the World.
Brazilian midle class is 51% of total population. The opinion of foreigners is not important for our reality.
