Rio de Janeiro: One or more assailants stabbed to death three French aid workers in an apartment in the crime-ridden Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, police said yesterday, describing the blood-soaked scene as "monstrous".
The bodies of two men and a woman, who worked with drug addicts, were found in the apartment in the Copacabana Beach neighbourhood after an apparent break-in and robbery.
Police arrested one suspect who was trying to leave the building in the morning, his clothes covered with blood.
They said the Brazilian man, who had cuts on his hands, identified himself as an employee of the same Terra Ativa nongovernmental organisation where the victims worked.
This article is not to scare you, but to show the reality of Brazil.
