Sara is a beast!!!!!

What are some problems in Brazil...social, political, etc...?

I am doing a report on for my world affairs class, my boyfriend was born there and he says the issues are mostly police brutality and prison problems. he hasn't lived there permanently for 12 years.

I'd like to know what is currently being down to solve these problems and what problems exist.

Hi, well i live in Brasil so I'll try to tell you what i can. Police brutality here no longer happens. You actually feel pretty bad for the police who risk their lives for very low pay(and a lot of other things). Prison problems aren't a big problem here. Prison breaks are uncommon now that Carandiru (our biggest and mostly populated prison) no longer exists. Carandiru is also a good Brasilian movie that illustrates what happened)

In Brasil nowadays i would say the biggest problem are the politicians. Brasil has been having big scandals of how corrupted most politicians are and how a lot of the money that should go into new projects and new equipment goes into their pockets. Which is truly sad for us Brasilians. As the middle Class suffers from high tax rates. The Lower class are free from many taxes though many are thugs and many more have very low education.

I believe most of the problems are attributed to the lack of vision from politicians as well as their unending greed. All in all there's a lot of things. Though i believe that with a handful of good politicians Brasil could be a 1st world country and not a 3rd world country. e-mail me if you would like to know more Acjharris21@yahoo.com

In June 2007 or about that time there were riots in the streets ordered by the inmates from pirson. Rio, Sao Paulo.

Crime is bad.

But while you have problems you also have good things. No place is 100% good.
