Sorry Mary, but, I'm trying to understand your question. What are you asking:
(1) Which products we can buy in Brazil for using in a science project?
(2) What foreigner can buy from / in Brazil?
(3) What are typical brazilan products?
(4) What a brazilian can buy in her/his own country?
(5) Which products are made in Brazil?
If number 4, the answr is anything and everything. It's enough to have money for this: food, bubble gum, toys, clothes, bike, cellphone, DVD, cheap car, notebook, LCD/plasma TV, house, mansion, Ferrari, yacht, helicopter, jet, etc. Poors can buy food, bubble gum, toys, clothes, bikes, cellphone, DVD and a cheap car. Medium class can buy all of these and notebook, LCD/Plasma TV and house. Riches can by all and the rest...
If number 5, all itens except Ferrari, because it is made in Italy.
I'm not telling this is your case (I'm sure you are just curious to know what other products are made in Brazil) but, many people things that Brazil is a mix of jungle and slum, brazilian people is primitive and walk naked in slums inside the Amazon forrest.
Well, Brazil is a large nation that produces almost everything: electronics, underwear, shoes, musical instruments, medical equipment, weapons, warships, merchant ships, luxury yachts, buildings, helicopters, airplanes and sattelites, among other itens.
It's common a foreign having a misconception about Brazil and brazilians based on they see on Hollywood movies and news of CNN or BBC: Brazil is a Africa-like where people is angry, goods are all imported (and for a few riches), only; ONGs from Europe and United States help all 190 millions of inhabitants to survive and tourism, coffe and bananas sustain the miserable economy.
I can tell you a totally different version: brazilian economy is strong, our GDP is almost the level of G7 nations, we produce high tech goodies and the middle class is strong. Brazilians are great buyers and the great number of shopping centers are proof of this. We have 51 of these (Shopping Centers) only in my city, Rio de Janeiro. And I assure that it are not sustained by tourists, but local consummers. Normal families goes to a supermarket or hipermarket every week or montly to buy food and other products. It's "funny" but, a few months ago, somebody asked if floor and milk are selling in Brazil. People answered "Yes" but the guy said "I don't believe"!
This is very sad for us, brazilian, and a big shame for these (foreigner) ignorant persons who believe in fantastic hollywoodian versions of Brazil. We live in the internet era. If someone has a question, can search on google or ask here. I can't urderstand how many people from "developed" nations can be so stupid.
