The general norm is for men to wear those types of swimsuits. That said, many also wear surfer/board shorts. So wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. If you change your mind you can always buy local swimwear while in Rio. The best store in my opinion is Blue Man in Ipanema. Lived in rio for over 3.5 years. You'll love it!

That kind of swimsuit is very common in Brazil, but if you fell uncomfortable, you can wear boardshorts. So don't worry!

If you got that kind of a body - you can wear such surf-shorts as well.
Actually, it's free for all - people wear what they like and are comfortable in.
In case, you like to do away with all clothing also - there are such beaches plenty. |

haha me 2!! ok well let me put this way, the men have amazing bodies and they like getting a good tan so basically all of them wear that! its very common you can wear those shorts that americans wear that's no problem, but only surfers wear that really, but its not a big deal, its just very common there! |
