Curitiba is rightly considered sedate by Brazilian terms, but it sports some good restaurants - including Italian and Eastern European, key 20th century immigrant groups - and cultural centers. It is also considered a global leader in urban planning circles, especially in terms of public transportation and human-scale public spaces (like squares and parks).

Beautiful location.
A little boring.
Cold weather.
Mostly white people around.
The city is very well planned and organized.

Not very cosmopolitan.

Not been there, but my friend lives there and loves it - he says it is a beautiful, clean city with a lot of amenities. I would like to go there someday.
