It is on everything the party of the family, it is when we see our cousins, nephews, grandparents, uncles, it is very entertaining. A lot of food and a lot of drink. We begin to commemorate 1 week before. We make a game of name "Occult friend" we put our names in small papers and each one raffles a name and that raisin our being occult friend. First the commemoration of the work. we make a party and each one reveals who is your occult friend and gives a present to him. And in every day of the week we met with the friends, with former school friends, with the friends of the bar, with the friends of the church, and in each one of the encounters we make the occult friend's game. In the party usually each one takes a contribution of food or a drink. Usually the commercial encounters are made in restaurants and the relatives and of the friends it is done at the house of one of the participants.
Only who wins present of all are the children and our mother, the other adults only get the occult friend's present.
As the food we ate the French toast that is a cut special bread in thick slices soaked in wine and eggs, later it is Bragged, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. We have the alitria that is a type of cooked pasta in the milk and sprinkled with cinnamon, panettone. we make turkey, farofa, mayonnaise, party rice, salad, ham, salgadinhos.
We decorated our houses with it Cristmans tree put colored lamps in the window, we changed Cristmas cards with friends and relatives. Now only we sent Cristmas cards with the most senior people with the more youths we sent virtual cards.

Warm, remember that it is summer down there.
They have a large meal, turkey, roast, ham at midnight Christmas Eve. Then they open one present to start the Christmas celebration. They have Christmas trees but they are not like the evergreens that we are used to here in the Northern hemisphere. Santa Claus is part of the tradition but the sleigh and reindeer just doesn't ring true down there. Family togetherness, community activities, nativity scenes, music and religious observance are all standard.
I enjoyed my two Christmases in Brazil. Good will toward men exists in Brazil as well as anywhere else.

We call the friends, the family. A night reunited!
Anyway, I think what happens here is just what happen in whole world (I mean, Western World).
By the way:

I wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for all South-Americans, North-Americans, Central-Americans, Africans, Europeans, Asians, Oceanics and the people that they are making search in the Antarctic... all the world!
I wish that Jesus Christ bless you everydays of your life.

See you on 2009!
