This will depend on what city you are staying
Sao Paulo costs more than Rio
A place in the north Brazil will be half the price than Rio.

Brazil is a big country and there are Hugh differences of standard of living between cities

i live in philly and airfare to rio was 1100....and that was for new years....the biggest event in rio (prime season). you shop around you can find cheap places to stay. I'd say March through October are the cheapest times to go as far as hotel costs go. check out www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owners) if you have a specific city you are looking to stay at. You'll have a better time renting a house versus a hotel.

If you are splitting the cost with a friend and airfare costs you $1100, you should be able to get a place for $1000 for a week, so $1600 per person plus spending money.

If you're really willing to slum around, you can get by in Brazil for very cheap. So it all depends on what you want to do. You mention drinks: beer is really cheap. You mention girls: dates are not cheap. You'll have to spend some money on dinner and and dancing or whatever - and Brazilian women usually expect men to pick up the entire tab on dates.

In any case, your airfare will be your main expense.

It depends on...
Rio costs more than SĆ£o Paulo (because Rio is a famous touristic city, of course) and both are among the more expensive in the world.
You need a minimum of $ 550.00 for a cheap hotel and for hamburgers with Pepsi or GuaranĆ�...Only!
If you heve disposal to sleep in the sand of the beach (hidden of the monitoring) and to be without shower, I think that about 100 dollars are are enough.
If you want a good hotel with breakfast, dinner, tourit flight, clothes, sunblock, souvenirs, you must to prepare about 2,000 dollars.

My guess would be around $1000.00 That is you spending money like crazy!!! BUt if you are going to a very fancy hotel you might want to bring more... but for a week $1000.00 should be just fine!!!
