Check for La Chimere and Lestada. It will depend on how much you want to spend. For example Casas Brancas is very nice but more expensive. Try to choose a pousada near praia Joao Fernandes and rua das Pedras and not on top of the hills so you can walk everywhere.

This is a difficult question, most young people spend the days on Geriba beach but apart from Fishbone which is a good restaurant/ club on Geriba beach all of the other nightlife is in the town centre. So do you want a hotel near the beach or the nightlife. Beach buggys can be hired anywhere for 20-30 dollars a day and they are great fun, I was told there are 2000 pousadas in Buzios and I can believe it so there is plenty of choice for all price ranges, by the way when are you going?
