oh my goodness, this is hard to answer... I just love Brazil so much, so it's not easy to choose one thing to be the best...
but above all, I think the best thing about Brazil is the friendly people.
after that I would say the weather, then food, then the beaches and I better stop... I can't wait to go there again!

I would have to say the people are the best! I was there for almost 2 weeks and I never felt more at home. They accepted me so well, even though I could hardly speak a word of Portuguese. They also know how to have fun. If you can, go during their annual Celebration. They party for 7 days straight. It was a blast. I can't remember at the moment what it is called, oh yeah, Carnival. That is a blast. Hope you have fun if you decide to go!

Large country - there are not one, but many different views. You can face many different cultures (habits, food, ethinic) within the same country, sharing same standards and language (portuguese).

You can see Nature everywhere.
Ecosystem
Pantanal, Amazonia, Caatinga, Atlantic Forest, Chapada da Diamantina, Fernando de Noronha, Marajo island, Abrolhos, Itaiaia Park, Quartela Canyon, Itaimbezinho Canyon, PETAR (CAVES) Park
Waterfalls and nature intensive contact
Iguaçu - Iguacu, Jalapao, Florianopolis, Itacare, Paraty, Angra dos Reis, Serra do Mar, Fernando de Noronha, Manaus, Cuidaba.
Cultural achievments
2nd largest Oktoberfest (Blumenau), 2nd largest italian restaurant (Curitiba), Bahia (Salvador) unique, Pernambuco, Ceara.

There is no best thing. There are place to all kind of habits.
Of course, there are also violence and misery in many places. Just avoid it and you will be in touch into such country.

Brazil is a marvelous place to go. We have the most beautiful beaches in the hole cost, green canyons, great waterfalls, the most beautiful Forest of the world, etc.

We have also various kind of music and dance. Our football (soccer) it´s the nation's passion. We have all kind of weather: in the northeastern is summer the hole year; in the north, is equatorial, hot and rainy; in the southeast and middle-west, sometimes is like autumn and sometimes like spring and in the south, you can find all the weathers.

You can find more notices of Brazil (Brasil), in the following site:

After a holiday in Brazil it can only be described as awesome. Yes there is a favella ( slum area) but the people don't want to move out of it, it isn't just an area it's a city with it's own law. So just drive past that and take in the rest of the sights. Watch them playing footvolley on the beach at night by floodlight, no wonder they can move with a ball on grass. Go further South and see the wonderful Iguazu Falls and walk under a rainbow. And for all you people who love a b-b-q you have never experienced anything like these slices of beef, pork and some that I didn't even recognise, slices of warm pineapple they just carry on slicing until you plead with them to stop oh and they do cater for the veggies as well with a huge selection. Slavery was abolished but the slaves left behind one of the greatest drinks I've ever tasted, caiperena sugar cane
rum crushed ice and fresh limes. I could go on and on.

Best and worst things.

Best things:

1. The diversity and multiculturality that comes from such a large country with such a unique history.
2. The beaches.
3. The women ARE beautiful
4. The sun (when it finally comes, usually during working hours).
5. The way you serve food. Padarias and buffets-a-kilo. Cutting edge. Brilliant.

The worst things:
1. Will you all please stop being so sensitive!
2. Will somebody please wear something different from everybody else? do your own thing...
3. Just because you talk loudly it doesn't mean you're right.
4. Beer should be served in PINTS.
5. Stop all this American fantasy land bollocks on the tv. Try something else apart from CSI, Charmed, House, etc. There is more to life.
6. One more thing. Officially, slavery was abolished in 1883. It still goes on. I am truly fed up, not just of seeing poverty on the streets, but of people not really giving a f*** about it. Something is seriously wrong here. I look out of my window and see a black woman watering the neighbour's garden, for a carefuuly negotiated wage. I hate this.

I could go on...

Brazil's such a huge country, it's difficult to tell what's best where...in some parts the beaches are as dreamlike as in the south pacific, in other parts the architecture's definitely worth more than a quick glance (and I don't just mean Brasilia), food is so varied you won't get the chance to sample it all - just make sure you have some churrasco and vatapà - music's great, then again, from samba to chorinho, from pop to forrò. There's Iguaçu falls, Olinda, Maceiò, Florianopolis, Ouro Preto, Vila Velha, Manaus. There's maracana, bumba-meu-boi and cavalhadas, candomblè, carnival, football, beach volley, hang-gliding, diving, free-climbing, dancing, romancing...you name it! But, above all, there's the people! :-) Enjoy
