Bronco Bob

What should I pack for a trip to Brazil in October--will be staying three hours from Sao Paulo?

I am a fashion-conscious woman who wants to blend in. Heard it wasn't safe to bring jewelry but would feel naked without it. Sandals ok in the spring???

Three hours from Sao Paulo?
Is it a city, or the country side or the beach.

The BRAZILians are fairly formal. So I would say, causual Chic , without the jewelry. Sandals are ok during the day, but more formal for the evenings

you can use sandals, jeans (maybe a skirt) and a little shirt (visual basic) are better. You can bring jewelry but dont use it in airport, some people looking for tourists that wear jewelry or have digital cams and others eletronic things to roub. Bring your sunscreen and a sunglasses. The spring start in 23 of september and it already is very hot. Goo trip

3 hours from São Paulo city will put you either in cities like Ribeirão Preto, Araraquara and Ourinhos in the countryside or Ubatuba, Peruíbe, Cananéia to the coast. In October, none of these places will be below 20degrees Celsius, even with the most unusual cold stream for the period. I bet all in for a damn hell summer yet. A free stay at my place with all hospitality included if I'm wrong. So prepare your anti-tan and UV blockers munition. For mosquitos also. If you are a real allergic and feel-cold person, a light jacket, a long sleeve or a emergencial hoodie, but only at night or if you go up the hills, higher than 1000meters. For your jewelrywise preocupation would add the advice of wearing anything without diamond and gold brightness, white gold it's ok, go for lazuli blue, perhaps some fakes will save your neck and arms. Common thieves and pickpockets will be less teased if your catwalk behaviour seems locals alike. By whatever sort of sandals you like here. Brasil is one of the world top sandals production spot and it's very cheap if your currency is like dollars or euro. Before going the 3 hours far, make a shopping stop over in the capital which will give all the supplies you need. Watch some live webcams in São Paulo places to get some ideas. Good Luck and wonderful trip.

Lots of light clothing. If you must take jewelry make sure its not expensive.

If you take jewelry be sure and have it insured, also be aware if you want to blend dont look like a tourist.
Ive not been back to that beautiful country in some years however even in their spring its HOT!,if you stay through to December it really will be.
When I return to visit my friends there I intend to check out a few fashion publications for 2007,as well as the resturants that no doubt have changed, not sure if the magazine is still published its great to answer all of these questions and more is 'Manchete'
Have a wonderful time.
