Go to the beach, and collect shells! They're free- and more sentimental than anything 'store bought'!
Have a great time!!!!!!

Depends on what kind of souvenirs you are into.
Im sure you will find replicas of the city´s weird architecture.
Also the semi precious stones, the area around Brasilia has very rich soil, as far as minerals go.
Cheap too.

Try to get a stuffed piranha (taxidermy).

If you are in Sao Paulo city, go to Praca da Republica. Best place is Embu, about 2 hr drive out of the city.

You can also get semi-precious stones like amethyst, emerald, zircone etc. They make them into small trees. But can be too heavy on your luggage.

Other than that, get anything made from leather like a jacket, gloves, pants or a cap.

I fell in love with a Brazillian from my trip a few weeks ago, though it can be a bit awkward to get in a suitcase.
