What to see and do in Sao Paulo? |
I'll be in Sao Paulo for just one day...so I was thinking of visiting the city all by myself. What should I do? What should I visit? only the most important things in the city since I only have one day.
Is it easy to go around by myself or is it better to take a tour with a proper tourist company.
what about nightlife?
I've heard that Sao Paulo is really dangerous at night....I've been recommended not to leave the hotel after 10pm |

If you can arrange for a tour guide you will experience much more, than by yourself...including the nightlife which is awesome..
you will be safer with a native tour guide and you will be sure to have a great time. Have a great and safe trip. |

São Paulo is a big and diverse city. There's something for everyone. What are your interests? Art? Sport? Music? History?
There are some good museums. The Butantã snake museum is a crowd pleaser, for instance. The nightlight is great, so don't let anybody scare you away from it. Just take the same precautions as you would in any big city around the world - New York, Los Angeles, London, etc. |

I wouldn't attempt to venture around by myself if I were you. Book a sightseeing tour. Sao Paulo really isn't as dangerous as people say...it depends on where you're staying and having some common sense. Like mentioned before, it's a big city like LA, London, NYC...so yes, a little common sense goes a long way if you're going out at night. I would recommend you book a hotel in the Jardins area, which is quite safe, even after 10 pm. There are great bars and clubs in that area as well.
Have fun!! |

Pay for a tour company. As you are limited in time. They know the spots to take you.
I have been there 3 times and friends have shown me around. I think is good, but a tour company would be a bit more organized.
Night life. Just depends upon what kind you want.
It can be very dangerous. Be wise and cautious and I don't think you will have any problems. |

Sao Paulo is a city like New York, London, Toyko, Mexico.
What do you enjoy doing?
There are museums to go, (history is quite recent as Americas were discovered not too long ago).
Cinemas, theathers (in Portuguese), ballet, opera, shopping.
The best things would be to have a DAY TOUR with a tour operator, to know the city, and try to avoid traffic (as they usually do), and enjoy food..
What sort of food? Italian? Mexican? Spanish? Japanese? Mongolian? Lebanese? Chinese? You mention, and most likely you will find it...
My recomendation, try TYPICAL BRAZILIAN FOOD from MINAS GERAIS or.. "COMIDA MINEIRA".. colonial, portuguese brazilian food.
If you want any specific details, or info, just write me an email.
