Well, in Rio is summer by now, so you should wear summer clothes, the fashion on this summer is colorfull light clothes, should shirt thats shows your back, bright color bracelets (one, can be leather), short dresses, huge sunglasses (Old styles), light makeup.
By feb 20 to 25 is the carnival party so everybody will dress light costumes (man dress like women and v.v.) and go to "blocos de rua", street parties, drinking, enjoying samba, having real fun there.
So if you want to go, go now... is really biggest party of that country...

Oh and littles short is up there too, they use to wear with a long shirt, really cute. |

Well... depends if you're on business or vacation. If you are coming to the carnival, you've got to wear as few clothes as you can, so don't worry too much about it, it can get very hot. Also, bring some beachwear, or you can buy some in Rio if you want. If you're traveling on business, then bring the lighter clothes you have. I mean, it's really warm. |

Swim wear, tee shirts, shorts, one decent shirt, one decent pair of pants (don't forget you'll have on a decent shirt & pants so you can always get them washed), sandals, anything over one carry-on is over-packing. |
