Guarana, queijo com goiabada, churrasco, women in high heels and showing a lot of skin, endless futebol games, insanely high-priced perfumes and sunglasses and other imported products, insanely high prices for local yet good quality products..BrasiW is a wonderful mixture of positive & negative things..the people are definitely warm and friendly to foreigners but the crimes are certainly frightening. I mean, they'll kill for a cellphone!A guy was shot 3 weeks ago in Metro Sta. Cruz in Sampa because of his cellphone, can u believe that?! |

After spending six months in Brazil, I found that in Rio the people don't really like to work, but in Sao Paulo they do. Cariocas won't admit to this and will in turn say that in Bahia nobody works. Things in Brazil were painfully slow and services was lacking in quite a few areas. Parties were great, as was the Cachaça, the Samba, and beaches. It was a nice place to visit, but difficult for living. |

The Corinthian

I have a very high opinion of many aspects of Brasil. I lived in Brasil (Sao Paulo, Campinas, Ribeirao Preto, Jacarei) for a few years. I love the people and have many friends that I consider to be family. I love the music, the food, futebol, the culture. There is a vibrancy to life. As is the case with most, the more you know and are familiar with, the better your appreciation.
There are some aspects, however, that I find troubling...crime and corruption come to mind.
I would, if the opportunity were right, serious consider living in Brasil again, at least for a period of time. |
