When Is The Best Time to Visit Brazil?

I am looking to take a trip to Brazil (Rio De Janeiro, more specifically). I've been doing research and so far some sites are saying that between March and June are the best times to go. I am getting these results from sites that do not look too creditable and wanted to get other peoples opinions who may be from the area. I am also worried that it will be out of season and not too many young people will be around to have fun with.

well..

If you have extra money.. and want to be around young people and tourists.. go for Carnival.. in Feb. which is during their summer.

if you want to avoid the tourists.. you will hardly see any between March - April.. and airline tickets are way low.. and its still a great time to go to the beaches. sept - november is also a good time

if you are more the historical type.. i'd highly recommend Salvador, Bahia .. the heart of Brazil.. around june - august.. during their winter.. so you dont boil away in the sun.. but its also THE BEST PLACE for Beaches... even more so then Rio.. its breath Taking

boa sorte

All depends your age, status (single, married) free times and money.. there its more to Rio than Mardi Grass, but if you go to Rio and dont see the Mardi Grass, its like going to Mc Donalds and ask for pizza.
the best time its going BEFORE the mardi grass and travel around AFTER to all the other places or go to the Mardi and STAY after to tour around.Brazilian are frendly people and the girls find hard to keep their panties up when they see a foreigner.
i went there for 3 weeks and stayed more than 3 months. i was just 19...try to join brazilian chat forums and make some frends...you will need them in Rio.

My friend and I (two 24 year old males) went for a week over Thanksgiving. The weather was great, but we honestly didn't see a lot of other tourists. I can't say that that's a bad thing because we had a great time. We made friends with one of the bellman at hotel we stayed at (Sheraton near Ipanema) and he hooked us up with the local scene. The beaches had people, but they weren't too crowded. I wouldn't hesitate to go again around this time of the year. I've heard that going around Carnivale is way too crowded and the prices are jacked up on everything. Hope this info helps.

High season is from Christmas to the end of February.

two million people hit the beach on New Year’s Eve.to celebrate the Godest of the Sea.They all wear white and light candles and make offerings to the sea. Februray Carnival. The downside is that everything becomes more expensive.
