Depends where you are flying from, the departure date and when you buy the ticket. Larger cities in the US or Canada have cheaper fares but the key is to buy early, and to be flexible with your dates.
To give you an example, I bought a ticket Vancouver to Sao Paulo for $970 (6 months in advance) for Sept 13-Nov 13. That same ticket is now selling for over $3,000 as we approach the departure date.
Christmas, New Years and Carnaval (Feb-March) are HIGH, HIGH, HIGH season. April to June and Sept to Nov are low season. But if you buy early you can find cheap tickets in there, once I got a ticket for January for just $1,000 (from Vancouver, and that's cheap!). So my advice is to research on the net, talk to a travel agent and buy when you find a good price because it won't last long! |
