Where to stay in Bahia, Brazil? |
Hey
I am spending a week in Bahia but not sure where would be best to stay? In fact, there are so many choices I am totally confused!Obviously would like to be close to Salvador but I did hear it is not very safe to actually stay in Salvador? What are the best places to visit around Salvador?
Some advice would be most appreciated. |

I lived in Salvador 12 years....Bahia is northeastern Brazil, and Salvador is the capital, a city with 3 million habitants, but is not dangerous, you have to take caution, as if it were in his city, many tourists are very innocent, but the city .... Salvador has many options, the green line has beautiful beaches, Praia do Forte, Imbassai, if you like resort, you can go to sauipe Coast, Salvador has the historic center, the magic is wonderful, be sure to go no show of Olodum (African group), is 3 days in Salvador, 3 on the beach of strong and be sure to know Morro de Sao Paulo (is on an island is a paradise, 2 hours by boat, leaving El Salvador), Trancoso is beautiful, but is in the south of Bahia, you'll have to make another path to go to Porto Seguro, paradise of adolescents, but if not stop the meet. trancoso To get in you have to get off at the airport, cross by boat and go to and follow path to Trancoso.look this sites:http://www.salvadordabahia.ba.gov.br/template.asp

Salvador is the capitol of the state of Bahia and is a huge city. If you're only going to be in Bahia only for a week, you shouldn't miss it. You'll want to see Pelourinho, the oldest part of the city, and of course Barra and the Costa Sauipe for their beautiful beaches. Porto Seguro is another coastal city much visited by tourists.
As far as safety is concerned, you need to use common sense as you would in any other large city anywhere in the world. |

what about Trancoso? It´s certainly the most peaceful place I ever have known and that´s the place I recommend, cuz prices are affordable and peace reigns over the place specially at night, not to mention the beaches... |
