ok... Lets be honest.... ur looking for a safe place...with nice people.... if youre looking for beach kinda trip...go to Florianopolis in Santa Catarina....and if you want the peace and european like style go to Rio Grande Do Sul... cities like Gramado are gorgeous..... and the top models u know out there...comes from Rio Grande Do Sul... which means beautiful people.....Bahia is dirty...thieves are everywhere...if youre a tourist they willnotice...avoid it..Northeast of the country its way too hot and the people are very inteligent but ugly as hell..beaches are nice though..Rio is really dangerous and filthy this season..... nothing like paradise they say it is... its more like hell..... Sao Paulo is great....tons of nice places to meet....safe.. if you stay in the east areas of the city.... other areas i would say ...hot mess......

The extreme north of the country..... unless ur into bothanical adventures... and safari fan..... i do not recommend.... its raining too much around there.... that means.... floooooooood....u gonna be a convict in a 5 star hotel

a gorgeous and clean city is Curitiba... at the Parana State.... its somewhere in between sao paulo and florianopolis....I love the people there..the city is considered a model city...well.. from sao paulo down....everything is nice... up.... its risky..... study and make a little research .... google images will show u where to go.... but believe me...Rio and Bahia....stinky options....

If you know the city of Rio de Janeiro, maybe you should know the State of Rio de Janeiro, paradisaical places exist in the State of Rio de Janeiro, one of the cities that I love is Paraty, it is a city built in the century 17 and it was preserved, therefore only in the decade of 70 a highway was built linking the city to the rest of the state.
The city is surrounded of islands and forest of the Atlantic forest. There still exist remainders of the indigenous tribe of Guaianáis. Annually the city is headquarters of the literature festival. personalities of the world of the literature visit the city and they participate in several cultural activities. You will also be able to visit mills of production of the Cachaça of Paraty, that still preserve the same utensils used in the century 17. And who knows with luck you can know the prince Little João, he is the heir of the Brazilian throne.
I like old cities and a city exists in Minas Gerais, the name is Ouro Preto, some films North American was filmed there, the city that is also of the century 16 and it is preserved, this city was already the largest gold mine of the world, that city produced so much gold during the century 17 that the international quotation of the silver was more expensive than the gold. Historical facts happened there, when the gold was becoming exhausted English invaded the residents' houses the search of gold, because they believed that the residents were hiding the precious metal. That episode is called of " A Derrama" and of him a movement of independence of Brazil, neighbor to Ouro Preto appeared Mariana's city exists with a magnificent historical patrimony, as in Brazil any was prohibited factory type, all of the consumption objects had to be imported of England and of Portugal, due to that it was very difficult and expensive the import of utensils done of iron melted to imitate grating of melted iron were sculpted in stone imitating the low fence of balconies. the sculpture is so perfect that visually is impossible to say that is not done of iron.

Compos do Jordão city, that's a wonderful place. the food, the weather, Beautiful people. That's just a great place to know in Brazil.

I was born and raised in Sao Paulo. Even though I think it's an amazing city I call it a "humongous Manhattan." It's absolutely crazy.
Rio is absolutely beautiful, but not safe. Keep your stuff (bags, purses, etc) very close to your body and use common sense. Do NOT got for a walk on the beach at night!
In my opinion the most beautiful places in Brazil are in Bahia (Salvador and surroundings) and Minas Gerais (Ouro Preto is my favorite.)
I travelled allover when I was a teenager and those two places really made an impression on me. If you have to choose between the two I guess I would go with Ouro Preto... awesome place to buy precious stones!

Sao Paulo is just a big city and Rio de Janeiro is cool but not very safe. Florianopolis is by far the best option in my opinion, it looks more organized, better, safer and of course heavy loaded with good looking girls. You won't regret it.
