Awful town with very little to offer. The gold-rush having seen it's days, it now is full of stray un(der)employed ex-miners. If they find jobs, it'll be as badly payed cowpunchers.
But it IS the access point to one of the world's most wonderful places: The 'Pantanal'. A MUST!!! One ought to go into the national park near Cuiabá and out through Campo Grande and/or Bonito.
Also the not to far 'Chapada de Guimarães' is worth a peek.
