OMG - I would say definitely Indians and Chinese. I think Indians have the worst accents (no offense - trust me on that - I am one). Chinese have the worst grammar, which compounded by their accent is real bad.
Indians who are at call centers, their English is decent - their accent HORRIBLE! They are made to pick an western name because most of the world cannot say their Indian names. This it to make it easier on the western clientele.
@ Tumb Raider - I loved your youtube clips, they made me laugh and smile as I have heard English spoken like that by Egyptians. It is endearing. |

Well Hamish the sheep lover does make a good point, that we Americans have atrocious English. But at least other English speaking ppl can understand it, unlike most of the Scots, Irish, and some of the Cornish persons I have heard over in the "Old Country".
However, we have completely done a poor job of instructing our children in English in this country, my wife and I both know it so we are doing what we can. We are raising a child who speaks it better than we do, which means we have to work REALLY hard to kill all the bad English she hears at school. |

Sri Lankens totally get me laughing with their compulsive head movements whenever they say something....far worse than Pakistanis.
I really hate New York /Yiddish accent. ......just the thought of it grates on my brain.
I find the Dutch/English accent pretty annoying too,its worse than German/English. |

Indians and Chinese that are state educated and have a deep accent
What worse is when you get through on the phone to an Indian speaking call centre and the female has changed her name to Anne and the guy to David- when you know your talking to Mohammed Iqbal sharif Omar Ali and Leila Maha Roohi
I just ask them what the real name is - you see they most probably found that people cant say the names correctly so they changed them. |
