no,, you dont need to worry at all, i just came from the usa and brought a computer with me and it works fine here.... you just need to buy a thing they call a "Stabilizador" its a little box that transforms all your pc power to the local voltage, and it has the american plugs..,. since most of the pc stuff is made for america all pc's here in brasil need it, its only about 20 dollars and its all you would need... as far as your high speed internet needs... it is available here and most high speed providers lend you a modem for free, however if you have plans on making the house wireless I advise you to buy a router i america and bring it with you because routers are still a bit expensive here.. cheap ones for around 100 dollars... you can also bring your modem... if your bringing a laptop just be careful with it because they are pretty expensive here... for example something that costs 600 dollars at walmart in america is worth about 1500 us dollars here.... good luck!
ps: the entire country is not the same voltage.. Brasilia the capital is 220 and the coast is 110 like in america... double check with your family... |

Here in Brazil we are used to have piece of equipment from foreign countries. I believe you may not have any problem.
The plugs are different, but you can buy an adaptator. High speed internet are available in many places. it depends the city you are going.
Hotels Downtown Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo (and a bunch of other cities too) may offer the things you need. |
