Vitoria is Southern of Brazil, not Northern.
Curitiba is a beautiful city. More organized then others. If I have to choose another place to live, probably it would be there, even if I know the problems of house's not having heating systems. I live in Rio de Janeiro. I love living in Brazil. I feel like I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Brazil is a great place to live if you have already earned enough money and want to spend the rest of your life outdoors. You must be smart and avoid living in big cities wich have big crime rates. The coast of northeast has wonderful and quiet places to live. You can also choose one of big states of the interior where you can buy cheap land for farming and enjoy swiming in waterfalls, fishing, horsing...I would'nt live in Brazil big cities. I would go there only to visit once in awhile. The best places of the country to live are in the countryside.

I think when he mentioned Northeast of Brazil he means cities like Victoria which has low crime and poverty but anywhere else is mostly all poor like anywhere close to Rio

Personally I would not like to live permanently in Brazil. I was there this past summer for 14 days. The first week was horrible, I was in Uberaba and it was hot/muggy/dirty and stinky from all the sugar cane... The second week was much better. We were in Curitiba and it was cooler, but the people were nicer and it was comparitive to a modern city in the United States. The people of Brazil have unusual customs of not heating their homes, and leaving the windows open even even when it is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy cold!!!
