If the above answers are accurate, I guess other provinces are very different. I'm in Ontario and all through school for me (high school, college diploma and university degree) and 60% was a C.

50 - 59 was a D and 60 - 69 was a C. 70 - 79 B, 80 - 100 A.

Of course within all those, there would be plusses, minuses so a 60 would be a C- ..

it is a "D"

LAJOIE2007
Well I'm a teacher and a 60% in my province, Ontario (at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels) can be either a D+ or a C- (in my school board it's a C-). An F is usually below 50%.

teachingboytoy
In Québec, it is the lowest passing grade, so it is equivalent to a D. With 60% you get the credits for your course. BTW, in Québec we now give percentage grades, not letter grades.

If you score 59% or lower, you get an F.

You'd need to check with other provinces to know their grading systems.

This is how it works in Ireland..
A: 100% - 85%
B: 84% - 70%
C: 69% - 55%
D: 54% - 40% (lowest passing grade)
E: 40% - 25% (failing)
F: 25% - 10%

I have a friend in Canada and she says this is how it works..
A: 80%−100%
B: 70%−79.9%
C 60%−69.9%
D 50%−59.9%
F 0%−49.9% (failing)

So 60% is a C-
Hope I Helped..

F, or it should be.
Rant ON:

Grading on a bell curve is cheating the students of a decent education. Grading on the linear is the only way to determine the amount of information retained by the student.
Essay questions are the only way to determine if the retained material is actually understood.

In my book: 70%=F, 80%=D, 87%=C, 95%=B, 100%=A

In Ga a 60% is a F a D is A 70%

Depends on the type of school it came from. There are no F's in elementary School anymore, now they are called R's (below 50%).

I think it's an F

Well I consider a 60 an F, but technically in the U.S. in most schools 60-69 can be considered a D, it just barely makes it by one point, but that is not in all schools, many private schools consider a 60 an F. In Canada a 60 can be considered a C in certain parts but in Quebec it is considered a D. I think it all depends on the school and location.
