A question about Canada? |
Hi. I'm 15 years old and I wanna live in a different country when I'm older. One of the countries I wanna live in is the Canadian Countryside so that I can live in like a cottage where I can have a little vegetable patch, do some writing, etc.
And I just got to wondering which part of Canada has the best countryside.
So, which part of Canada has the best countryside? And are the locals friendly? |

"Hi"...it's nice to see a 15 year old ask an interesting question here in Answers and furthur to see someone that knows what they want to do when they are an adult ! Good on ya "Young Sir"! *S*
I'm also glad that you feel Canada is a nice place to live and I agree with you , in fact I was born here and am of Scottish ancestry !
Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world and we have a population of approximately 34 million people and interestingly enough most of the population lives within 200 miles of the Canada /U.S.A border so we in essence have tons of countryside in which you can choose from.
Now if you are serious about moving here you have to promise yourself that you are going to so some things for yourself starting "now" !
You have to start now and stick to it and the main thing is education which you need to finish and get also a college degree or after high school perhaps even get an apprentice ship in something that would make you unique and skilled !
If you do that for yourself then you would be able to come here ,and as such , also be able to write and tend to your garden in peace and quiet and make good Canadian friends as we are very friendly and "Welcome" everybody that qualifies to immigrate here !
So don't promise me that you'll do that , but promise yourself ,and rather than it be just a dream, make it a goal and make it happen !
Good luck and hope to see you here in about 10 years ! *S* (Michael C...) |

Good choice.
A lot of people love the Okanagan. That is, the southern part of British Columbia around the area of the Okanagan Lake/River.
The weather is very hot. Up around 35+C in the summer.
The locals are very friendly.
But most Canadians are friendly. It's what we're known for. |

All locals, with no exceptions, are friendly!
You pick any spot you want, most of our population live 100 mile away from the US border so that leaves you 9,970,610 km2 to pick a spot! |

The countrysides are beautiful all over the country, in my opinion (even though i am biased to think that Quebec has the best ones! :))
Locals are very friendly in Canada, especially in small towns. Hospitality is everywhere :) |

Almost any area of rural Nova Scotia or the Eastern Townships of Quebec (L'Estrie) have beautiful rolling hills & friendly folk. |

What Michael said is very good advice, and most of Canada, is what you are looking for, come for a visit when your a little older, see the different parts of Canada and then you will know a little more where you might wan't to live when you decide to come.
Take Care and finish you schooling.

Yes Canadians are friendly on the most part
Canada is huge so every province you'll have northern parts.what you call country side and large cities why don't you take a road trip when your older best way to see what you like
Like anywhere else though if you have an attitude while traveling you'll get an attitude back ! |

You could go anywhere in Canada and find that combination - and friendly locals. Best suggestion would be to spend a little time visiting and see some of the different provinces for yourself. |

I have been to Canada a few times and I dont think the locals were friendly to US Citizens at all. In fact my girlfriend I was traveling with her car was broken into, when she called the police in Montreal they asked if she was American; when she said yes they never came. She called back 3 more times to no avail and when she called the last time they actually hung up on her. All of her luggage was stolen along with a guitar and no one even wanted to help. She ended up going to her insurance company for the damages (good thing I had a camera in my purse). Im sure not all of Canada is that way but that was my experience with Montreal. Good luck |

Well, for start you'll have to learn French, but more importantly you'll need to start speaking English properly. What kind of word is 'wanna'?
I would think British Columbia might be the best bet. |
