Nope. Just like any other currency, it's only good in the country where it's issued. in this case, the 'country' is Canadian Tire stores. No other stores will accept it. |

Some companies like to do crossover deals, like Cineplex Odeon theatres at one time took discount coupons from their competitors.
But Canadian Tire does not do this with any other company, at least not at this time and to my knowledge. It even mentions in the fine print on one side that the money is not a legal currency and cannot be used elsewhere unless authorized by Canadian Tire Corporation.
That being said, I have seen a few charities who indicated that they would accept Canadian Tire money. Of course, these were mostly Boy Scouts and soccer teams that were bagging your order on the way out of Canadian Tire. I don't think Unicef or others would appreciate it if you sent them an envelope filled with a few Canadian Tire dollars! |

Um, no. That's why it's called Canadian Tire money - the money is specific to Canadian Tire. Though, I did used to live in a small town where one of the local bars accepted it. Not legal, I'm sure, but what bar in a small town is? I don't think the do anymore though, I think they were discovered and fined. |
