Any feedback on Air Canada?

I've been reading mixed reviews. Some are actually quite scary, I'm just wondering if there is some truth to it

For a source of reviews of all the world's airlines try skytrax. You can even check out photos of the food served on all the different airlines (as well as reviews of service/aircraft etc.)

A travel said he gets more complaints about them than all the rest . West Jet gets good revues

I have taken Air Canada several times without any issues. I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I think it is a pretty good airline.

Air Canada is pretty much the same as any other airline when it comes to service. Airlines across the world are suffering due to the high cost of fuel and are looking for any way possible to reduce their costs. The days of "service" on most airlines are long gone. One has to think of air travel as simply a way to get from point A to B. As long as the plane takes off and lands safely and is reasonably close to being on time the airline has satisfied it's commitment to the passenger. I have flown on many different carriers over the years, (AC, WestJet, Delta, United, Alaska) and they're all pretty much the same. WestJet and Alaska seem to make a little more of an effort to ensure the experience is pleasant but at the end of the day all that's really important is that the plane's takeoffs and landings always add up to an even number. Air Canada's safety record is as good as any airline in the world.

If you are flying within North America on AC, I'd suggest you bring your own food, or buy something in the terminal. The stuff that they sell onboard the airplane is limited, unhealthy and overpriced... sandwiches are $6 US/ CDN, chocolate bars and cookies are $2.

All of the narrow-body airplanes in the fleet have been refurbished so they have personal TV's and most have in-seat power if you want to plug in a laptop or DVD player.

I do the web check-in so that I print my own boarding passes, drop off my luggage (if I have anything to check in) and go to the gate.

I've sent several complaint letters to AC and their attitude was "F$%K Off and fly someone else" so that is what I do now I only fly AC on business if there is no other way of getting to that locaton. The Air Farce had a joke many years ago "I had to get there in the worst way possible" <pause> <pause> "Air Canada"

I've only had survice more crappy than AC once and that was with American Airlines out of Chicargo and that was just like AC's hostility service, service with a snarl. With AC I've had mobility problems (bad knee) that they just fluffed off by saying someone will be at the end of the ramp to help me NOPE, breathing problems due to a fellow PAX bathing in perfume (too bad plane is full to you bub) and my last flight the final straw a multi leg trip planes were all late and filthy and we had to sit short of the gate for about 20 min until a ramp rat got back off break.

If I was to say AC sucked that would be a complement if they just sucked.

Air Canada really isnt that bad, dont let the reviews scare you. We've been traveling every two years to Nova Scotia, Halifax, and every time its worked fine. We recently went to mexico as well, and it was also good. Bad food, but what airline doesn't?

Actually, the worst time we've had was when they had to do repairs on the plane so the flight was delayed, and another time they lost all records of us buying tickets in their system, but they just checked our visa and found our tickets quickly. The wait was nerve wracking, but other than that it was fine
