Any one know why there are some many India tourists in Niagara Falls? (not racial question, just curious)? |
We just went to Kiagara Falls last week and we found out that there are more than 70% of the tourists are India people. We just wondering, why??? ( this is nothing to do with the racial discrimination , just personal curious) Additional Details I am Not an american and english is Not my native language neither. So, some of the people just take it too seriously.
Also, I can speak and type Englsih (even though not every well), how about the people who question me, can you speak or even read Chinese a little bit? ha..... |

Hmm... You know what? You're right. It may be because there are very many Indians living in Toronto, and when their relatives come to visit (which is almost all the time in that culture), they take them to see the most grand sight around: Niagra Falls. |

Maybe there's an excursion or something. And the main reason is....They want to see Niagara, that's it! |

Hmm.
It's "Indian".
It's "at Niagara Falls".
It's "personally".
It's "that more than 70%".
I'll assume "Kiagara" is a typo, though K is nowhere near N.
I bet those Indian tourists have a better command of English than you. |

Niagara Falls is a world wide tourist destination, a natural wonder that people from MANY countries want to visit. You will also see plenty of Japanese tourists. European tourists abound as well, although they mostly are distinguished by language instead of appearance.
This is no different than other international tourist destinations. Why are there so many NON Indians at the Taj Mahal? Why are there so many Americans at the Eiffel tower? Why are there so many westerners at the Pyramids in Egypt? Because they are some of the best known attractions of those countries.
Also, people from other countries tend to have a grasp of a second language, often English, so they are not as afraid to travel overseas. Americans very seldom know a second language, and after reading some of the questions here on Y/A, I daresay SOME of them.... barely have a command of their own language. |

People from India are called Indian, not India people. Niagara Falls is one of the seven natural wonders in the world,so why would tourists not want to see them? That would be like asking why people wanted to see the pyramids,or the Bay of Fundy. Personally, every time I visit Niagara Falls I see way more Asian tourists than Indian, and how do you know they are tourists anyway? |

I would like to find out where you get your 70% information. The majority of visitors come from within a six hour drive. Ohio, Penn. NY and Ontario are the highest visitors.
If I might be able to speculate, the reason so many foreign visitors come to Niagara is because it is the most spectacular waterfall in the world and according to the bus benches in Niagara Falls, it is the world's most famous address. |
